I Hath Arrived!

So we are here now. Parker and I survived a very long two days of travel (2 hours to the airport, 4 in the airport, 10 on the plane, 2 hours of paperwork, 2.5 to Karmiel).

We are staying with a host family, a family kind of enough to house me until I find an apartment of my own. They are around my age with three little girls (2, 4 & 7). All three are all kinds of excited about having a cat in the house.

I spent yesterday going to different offices to get my life here started. I can't really do much besides look for apartments, though, until I get my official ID card on Monday. That means no cell phone until then.

The places I've seen so far are great, some of them in the houses that are built into the side of the mountain we're on. If I could find my camera (which might still be back in Philly) I would take pictures. Once I get a new phone, I'll use that for picture taking.

Tonight I'll be celebrating Shabbat with the family I'm staying with. I know that for tomorrow we've been invited to someone's house for lunch because they want to meet the new Oleh (immigrant) and that's nice. I hope it's good food.

I had to give a lesson to the girls here about how to approach Parker because the first time they saw her they were screeching "KIIIITEEEEEE" and scared her off. Poor Parker.
